The River Fowey has played an important part in the history of Lostwithiel. Over seven hundred years ago Lostwithiel was a major town, the centre of the tin industry and a busy port. During the 14th century however mining for tin upstream caused the River Fowey to silt up and the port declined today the river makes a pretty picture. Photograph By: Views Of Cornwall Team
