Coulson Park was created from finances donated by Nathaniel Coulson a former inhabitant of Lostwithiel who made a fortune after he emigrated to San Francisco. The park was opened in April 1907 by the mayor and today the people of Lostwithiel enjoy its splendid walks, mooring for boats and many outdoor activities there is also a shelter which was erected to mark the Silver Jubilee of King Georg V.
