Musicians from Padstow provide the rhythm for the dancers. The traditional May Day Song for the children's dance has an unforgettable tune that you hear all day echoed throughout the streets. The first verse of this song copied from the May Day Celebrations sheet handed to us by one of the children goes
“Unite and unite and let us all unite,
For summer is acome unto day,
And wither we are going we will all unite,
In the merry morning of May.
