Kennall Vale – Ponsanooth near Falmouth
Ideal for a picturesque woodland walk Kennall Vale is the site of a former gunpowder works which was established in the early 19th century. The remains of the gunpowder works are scattered throughout the reserve and include mills, leats and other buildings. The production of gunpowder ceased in the area in 1910. Kennall Vale also has an abandoned granite quarry. Kennall Vale represents the best-preserved gunpowder works in south-west Britain. Parking can be a problem at Kennall vale an as such it is recommended to park further down the road and walk up.
