Carn Euny near Penzance
Carn Euny was once a small farming hamlet which was establish around 300BC and continued at the site until about 300AD. The area was discovered by miners prospecting for tin and the underground chamber, known in Cornwall as a fogou, was excavated in 1863'5. The house remains that can be seen today were excavated in the 1920's and 1960’s. The property is managed by the Cornwall Heritage Trust.
