Mount Edgcumbe House is a magnificent example of a red stone Tudor House, it was built between 1547 and 1553 by Sir Richard Edgcumbe of Cothele and restored by the Earl of Edgcumbe in 1958 and 1964. Family possessions include paintings by Sir Joshua Reynolds, 16th Century tapestries and Plymouth porcelain.
