More than 200 years of Regimental history are on display at the museum with interesting displays which include medals, uniforms, small arms and pictures. These exhibits tell a fascinating account of Cornwall’s County Regiment, The Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. Bodmin is former county town of Cornwall and is situated next to the breathtaking Bodmin moor which includes popular treks to Roughter and Brown Willy. The towns name comes from the Cornish words "bod" (dwelling) and "monegh" (monks). The town is now bypassed by most travellers entering or leaving Cornwall by road or rail.
