Bodmin & Wenford Railway
Cornwall's only standard guage railway still operating steam locomotives. August saw the second of the 'Day out with Thomas' events where children and adults alike were enchanted by the characters from the Tomas the Tank Engine tales. The Fat Controller kept an eye on the proceedings and was available for photo calls.
Bodmin is former county town of Cornwall and is situated next to the breathtaking Bodmin moor which includes popular treks to Roughter and Brown Willy. The towns name comes from the Cornish words "bod" (dwelling) and "monegh" (monks). The town is now bypassed by most travellers entering or leaving Cornwall by road or rail.
